Invoice-after
Get Paid Before You Give the Advice
·
Advice first, invoice later leaves payment optional. The guest already has the answer. Collect the card before you talk, then charge at Start — not at booking, and not after you hang up.
Why the invoice comes last
A calendar tool books the slot. Zoom or Meet runs the call. The invoice goes out after you hang up. Each piece works. Payment is the step that can slip, because the advice has already been given.
Card before you talk
The guest saves a card through Stripe on a private link before the conversation starts. The card is on file before you talk. Book the time on the calendar already in use; the link is not a scheduler.
Charge at Start, not at booking
Saving the card is not a charge and is not pay-at-booking. Money moves when you tap Start. Hourly bills the minutes after that tap; fixed-price captures the agreed amount at Start. Hourly vs fixed-price. If the guest never joins and you never start, they are not charged — and you did not give the advice.
Empty hours after a saved card are a different problem: consulting call no-shows.
Cost
Pricing and the merchant-of-record setup are in how to charge for a consulting call.
